Been doing my usual reviews which led me to this profile page that documents my BEENs. I feel like I am drained of money but it turns out all that at about 8% of the world. Whoa. I want my remaining % soonest.

[Ho Chi Minh] ~ A taste of typical
For what is routine to locals could be memories to a stranger. – 04.17.14
While first day was spent visiting most of tourist destinations, decided to spend my second day in Ho Chi Minh trying to feel more of its local vibe. I spent a lot of hours walking and with no specific place to go to, I made most of those floating, vague items on my travel bucket list this year just take over.
[Ho Chi Minh] ~ A day of boo boos, must-sees/eats/drinks
Even the scariest trip starters deserve turn-around before sundown, 04.16.14

An interesting first day on a country I’ve always wanted to visit, gifted me with thought that while we do not always find ourselves in the best of situations, the beauty of it is knowing that when under the mindset of your relationship with a place being short-lived, it kind of pushes you to choose battles, be more forgetful and forgiving of unwise decisions and not let the mishaps ruin what could be quite a day.

[Dumaguete] ~ Celebrating Birth Years
Crazy weekend that’s one of few when it’s no travel solo. – 03.8-10.14

I have exceptional love for introvert travelling but this was definitely a fun and ironically despite many “I-forgot-what-I-said” incidents, an unforgettable trip.
[Subic Beach, Sorsogon] ~ Not Your Place for Typical Versions of Sand and Sky
Beaches are all sand and sky, but each with secrets that surprise. – 05.17-19.14
>>>>>
After weeks of sharing of online reads on secluded beaches to go to, our gut pointed us to this campsite beach in Sorsogon. A place of (good and not-so-good) surprises, that beach was.

[Zambales] ~ About love of beach, beer and buddy in San Felipe
For it was a weekend of my favorite whats and who. — 02.22-23.14
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was supposed to be a trip with someone with an odd trip – we go to same place but not really be together. In our words, a “walang pakialamanan” (we-shall-not-care-about-each-other) weekend. It was a bit of a crazy idea but I guess as we are both ‘beach-tune-out’ persons, we were at that time just a little bit possessive and ungenerous of our sanctuaries we did not want anyone to invade it. Little did I know that what sounded like an unsound plan had a more surprising insane ending.
[Zambales] ~ 1,647 Steps around Potipot Island
Time is a measure, so are steps. – 01.31-02.01.14
I knew I could not forgive myself if I let the first long weekend of 2014 without going anywhere. Potipot was an impulsive decision but it was the perfect kick-off to a year of wander.
[Bangkok] ~ In Bangkok, I again walked
Last days are always heartbreaking. Goodbye to a short-lived love affair, Bangkok. – 10.21.13
>>>>>
Spent my second and last day with an early morning walk around some non-touristy nowhere followed by ‘tour’ around the maze that is Chatuchak Market. What followed was more encounter with temples, Buddhas and history in Bangkok National Museum then spent a lazy afternoon people-watching and listening to music at the pier with Wat Arun on view. A few hours before saying goodbye to a happy weekend, loaded myself with last two bottles of Chang Beer and chill reggae music at Rambuttri.
[Bangkok] ~ Night has its pulse
For in the twin streets of Khao San and Rambuttri, night has its pulse. – 10.19-20.13
>>>>>
One of the reasons why I chose an accommodation in Khao San is its proximity to one of the things I could never let myself fail to do in a foreign country – grab a beer. And my previous months’ research led to the streets of Khao San and its named ‘tame’ sister Rambuttri. So during my only two nights in Bangkok, I did some drinking (take note : drinking, not drunking). There is however much more in these sibling streets – one could soak not only in alcohol but in those strips’ everything – food (and different kinds at that!), clothes, places to stay, (fake) certificates, Internet cafes, books, Thai massage, CDs, colorful lamps and just everything else, well, under the moon.
[Bangkok] ~ In Bangkok, I walked
Felt like being home, only ironically with some dose of unfamiliar. – 10.19.13
Having known Bangkok to be a country with a culture untapped by any foreign influence (being a country not invaded by anyone), it has always been an interest of visit. So when I had to chance to go there with a free trip of choice when I availed of Cebu Pacific’s Citibank card, I thought about Bangkok. My interest was tapered with some reading I did prior to going which made me discover stories about scams and unfriendly weather. Those, however, were gone just after day 1 of this weekend.
Start, shall we?
