An area both cute and quirky, I could not ask for more. Well, more time to wander next time, maybe – 10.02.15
I had no set itinerary for that day except make use of my unlimited day pass so after seeing castles, animals it was for some odd reason. From the station which could not be mistaken as the nearest to the zoo with its series of posters as clue, I was led to this alley of restaurants and shops before finding my way to them – with penguins becoming my ultimate favorite.
From within the city to somewhere high to see it from above, next destination was the nearby Tsutenkaku Tower located in this neighborhood interestingly patterned after Western, the tower itself after Eiffel – something I personally think to be uncommon with a country we perceive as highly championing its own.
From finding sleep in airport to peace in temples, it was quite a kick-off, Osaka! – 10.01-02.15
From experiencing first being stranded in an airport to getting lost in SHINSAIBASHI while in search of my first capsule hotel check-in until those historic site hop from OSAKA CASTLE to SHITENNOJI TEMPLE – latter currently on renovation yet one temple gave me this temporary piece of peace.
It was a trip I was supposed to have almost a year from now. It has to be moved to October but still, these snapshots were almost a year old! But hey, that is what snaps are for sometimes, right? Let’s do this memory 😀
I am not a very careful person with the things I own but from a recent trip, ‘life’ gave me a temporary scare – maybe to teach to me to be a tad otherwise or amid my down times lately, feel #blessed.
Its seclusion made it initially scary, but it’s exactly later on what made worth all the scare – 09.25-27.15
I decided going to this place two days be fore it happened but I am just glad that I did not choose wrong. That ship ride getting there a check in my to-do list this year, the initially scary quiet and odd rawness of the island despite its many resorts (apparently also with an interesting story behind its name), lazy day of reading and wading, an impulsive trip to a sandbar and taking an alternative rather brave-the-waves kind of ride on a boat shared with only two other passengers.
Sometimes, you just have to go for the impulsive ones – 08.31.15
It was my last day in the island and there was a floating plan in my head to visit the other known beach in El Nido called NACPAN. Not a solid plan as I thought I did not have enough time but thanks to the tricycle I flagged, its drivers convincing skills and that photo of the view of that beach and its twin, I went to see and well, it was worth it. I had to rewrite an entire entry because something went wrong with WordPress that I didn’t realize I published a raw article which was up over the weekend.
Anyhoo, here are my notes and snapshots on my second day in El Nido.
Five-hour trip from Puerto Princesa got me to this small town where I spent my first day just the usual walking around and immediately falling in love with realization that dogs were everywhere. Caught the sunset atMARIMEGMEG BEACH over beer and new camera ‘test-drive’ on day. Full day the following day spent on Tour C which I chose for its promise of hop within hidden beaches called HELICOPTER ISLAND, (well) HIDDEN BEACH, that beach with name I did not catch but has the loveliest water and most beloved seclusion andSECRET BEACH which inspired Alex Garland’s The Beach. Last half day was this sudden detour to swim NACPAN’s gentle waves and see from a hill its twin CALITANG.
Curiosity finally satisfied on this other town in Palawan

From bar-hopping in the city to this weekend of finding my spot in a no-shade beach and taking this impulsive decision to snorkel that day – an experience uncaptured but for this trip was when I was happiest.
It’s not the first time that I survived a railway system but with idea of Japan not as tourist-friendly as Korea, I was initially scared with this Osaka trip.
But I did survive and I am happy (and proud) about it that I am breaking rules with this entry. One – I am writing this when I should be working on those backlog entries. Two – I am not into anything as close to what could pass as informative.

But then again, I may have been too happy and proud. (Do not read more if you wish to explore and get ‘it’ on your own.)
