We like to believe we are grown-ups but it doesn’t hurt to remember being a child, even for a few hours. – 10.25.14

Second stop of Gapyeong Tour (first stop at Nami Island) is at an attempt at a French village inspired by the famous children’s book Le Petit Prince. Curiosity and love for this all-time favorite led to me place plus interested too as it was a filming location for another Korean drama I love – Beethoven Virus.
It had to me the feel of a children’s theme park so I think it ‘aims’ to bring out the child in you even for just the time you are there. As for me, I was just an adult observer to those adorable kids running around the place –either with their families or better due to collective cuteness (excuse the word!) – in tour groups! Also loved discovery of some Little Prince character statues scattered around the park such as the Drunkard and the Businessman.
Back on the bus, and in another nice seat again~
~~~
Just so I remember the entrance fees. A bonus peek at those Little Prince status as well.
~~~
With those brochures in multiple languages, this place is definitely prepared for tourists.
~~~
Greeted by this scene on such bright day
~~~
Am not sure whether these are kids’ artworks but these are playful and quite a feast to the eyes
~~~
An interesting hallway of such paintings. I knew this place to be location shoot for Koreanovela Beethoven Virus and this spot looks like their hallway to the practice. Am not so sure though
~~~
These paintings look 3D.
~~~
And this one just reminded me of another Korean drama Love Rain. Must be that yellow umbrella
~~~
Just because I was semi-convinced this is indeed the hall where they shot those practice scenes of Beethoven Virus
~~~
Oh hello there, the drunk. And just now, I want to reread The Little Prince
~~~
Crowns. Always creepy.
~~~
The widest shot of the village I could take
~~~
Will later on realized those houses at the top are available for rent
~~~
Another drama that was shot there. If I remember right, this was also popular in the Philippines. Hmm and yet I could not remember its title
~~~
So apparently, it was not just Beethoven Virus.
~~~
But this my favorite!
~~~
Guests can rent our French costumes !
~~~
Daddy and baby’s day-out
~~~
A Christmas “T”
~~~
Was that Jang Keun Suk’s (sorry, fan-girling :D)
~~~
Sneak peak.
~~~
More colors.
~~~
View from an outdoor cafe
~~~
Next to the outdoor cafe is this sort of a lighthouse with interesting doodles on the wall.
~~~
Cute kids on tour !
(Reminded me of a similar experience when I first visited Gyeongbokgung / The Royal Palace the first time I visited Seoul)
~~~
Oh love doodles. Universal
~~~
And this one seems just sad. Maybe waiting for that someone to stay on the other heart
~~~
View from one of the windows (and I just couldn’t remember where it was. Err. Sorry
~~~
I had a hard time finding this Maestro Kang (character in Beethoven Virus) so yeah, finally.
(And kids, we meet again)
~~~
This wall of signatures. Immediately looked for Jang Keun Suk’s!
~~~
…and Immediately found it! ❤
~~~
This one another favorite character
~~~
And this one too! (And I obviously just took photos of signatures of characters I loved)
~~~
The chair girl was sitting on was Master Kang’s in the TV series
~~~
Oh this a lovely table.
~~~
And this a lovely chair.
~~~
On the same building as that room is this cafe. Too bad I missed an acoustic set. Must be in the evening.
~~~
Lovely symmetry in there.
~~~
This one just a little bit more perfect.
~~~
More celebrity signatures on this cafe. This one of Park Shin Hye’s of You’re Beautiful.
~~~
And of course, the ever famous in the Philippines Lee Min Ho
~~~
I personally think a bit off from The Little Prince theme but these are cute giant postal stamps
~~~
Such stamps also function as wall art too!
~~~
Creepy from another angle.
~~~
Just because there was a mirror. This was inside this house with plenty of plates and other figurines
~~~
A rather cosy room, if not too dim (or maybe this is just an aftershock of the clown creep)
~~~
Funny how seemingly forced / “pilit” that smile was. Cute nonetheless
~~~
Well, another mirror.
~~~
Ahem. And there was more
~~~
Fun Plates.
~~~
Looks lovely even as background
~~~
Another outdoor cafe where I would later on sit to take a rest
~~~
This stall sells best-seller coffee and other sweets
~~~
Abandoned. Or could this stroller be Little Prince’?
~~~
And this adorable kid tracing those swirly mustard sauce
~~~
Because I have been craving for those chicken strips at Hongdae I had the previous day
~~~
Up the hill is this theater
~~~
And fun photo opportunities. Unfortunately could not selfies in here because background would be lost
~~~
Again, those kids! Or maybe another group.
~~~
The Businessman, I suppose?
~~~
Just when I was about to leave, I saw this show. Awww.
~~~
Oh yes, photobomb.
~~~
Targeted to be at the bus stop at around 2PM so I will be at Garden of Morning Calm by mid-afternoon. Bus however had this major delay (which was quite disappointing because I have always known Korea to be that efficient). Tried to distract myself then just taking photos of , well, my feet, and strangers.
She whose feet I captured but whose face I shall forget
~~~
Cheesy but this ‘scene’ just made me miss my boyfriend. :p
How to get there :
I went on an affordable Gapyeong City Tour which for details, scroll down to last section of this entry .
